The Engineer Who Decoded Language

Hi, I'm Benjamin.

My background is a bit of a paradox. I'm a native Chinese speaker who spent university mastering two very different disciplines: Engineering and English.

For years, these worlds felt at odds. Chinese is a language of imagery and intuition; English is a language of structure and logic. I remember staring at words like serendipity or ephemeral—I knew the definitions, but I had no idea when to actually use them. That frustration stuck with me.

As an engineer, I couldn't just "feel" my way through this gap. I had to decode it.

Rooted in Family, Empowered by AI

My fascination with language runs deep. I grew up in a multilingual household—my father and grandmother are bilingual, and my grandfather spoke three languages fluently. They taught me the art of communication. My engineering training taught me the science of it.

For years, combining these two was just a dream. But the rise of AI finally gave me the tools to merge them—to translate my engineering mindset into a living product.

The Philosophy Behind VibeDict

1. Words are Bricks

Whether in Chinese or English, the smallest unit holds the structure together. You cannot build the fortress of fluency without a solid foundation. VibeDict ensures every brick is laid with precision—context, usage, and memory.

2. Multidimensional Memory

The human brain thrives on connections. Text alone is weak. Because I had to bridge two vastly different cultures, I learned that a word only sticks when you see it, hear it, and feel it. VibeDict doesn't just give you a definition—it gives you the scene, the vibe, and the logic behind every word.

Let's Build Together

I'm not just the developer of VibeDict. I am its most active user. I use this tool every day to sharpen my own language skills.

But VibeDict is an evolving project, and I can't build it alone. Your feedback directly shapes the code and the future of this product.
